General

What are the real difference between die-cut stickers , clear stickers and digitally printed stickers?

With die-cut stickers, a die isn't actually used at all. These are made by the blade physically cutting into a single colored roll of vinyl using a computer controlled machine - much like a razor blade into contact paper. The stickers are hand peeled and application tape is applied. When applied, the stickers look much like paint and have no background.  For one color, more basic designs that require no background, die-cut stickers are your best choice.

With clear stickers; we print a layer of white first and then print your image over top of this.  This process is great to receive a look that is similar to die-cuts, with more colors, more details and a similar application process.  The colors are limited in this process as we only have certain colors available to us for this process.  For more basic images with standard colors where a clear vinyl background is required, this is the best produce to choose.

With digitally printed stickers; premium white vinyl, reflective or face adhesive vinyl is the base material and ink is printed onto the surface using a computer controlled, highly accurate printer thats designed to print onto vinyl.  After printing, the vinyl is removed from the machine and then laminated with a lamiante that gives your custom stickers a 3+ year outdoor life and a glossy appearance. The print can then be loaded back into the machine, where the contour cutting takes place. No dies are used in this process. The technology is amazing, but the output is even more amazing!  For incredibly detailed artwork with custom colors, gradients or glows, this is the product to choose.

How difficult is it to apply my stickers, will they come off when I wash my car?

Applying your stickers is a simple peel and stick process. Whether your stickers are die-cut with application tape applied, printed onto clear with application tape applied or digitally printed, you won't have any trouble applying them on your own. If you feel uncomfortable doing it, e-mail us and we can walk you through the process.  Once you have applied one, you will be a professional!  They will not come off when you wash your car - they are semi-permanent adhesive that won't be removed with normal washing.de

Are your stickers the same as screen printed stickers?

No they are not. Screen printing is a very different, very low tech process compared to digital printing.  Screen printers can produce very basic designs, while digital printing can produce the most complex, detailed designs. Our products are also much more durable than screen printed stickers as our digitally printed stickers are laminated.

Can you cut around the outside edge of my design to make it a custom shape?

Yes we can! After the image has been printed, a separate part of the machine cuts around the perimeter of your sticker leaving no white on the outside edge. We setup a bleed to ensure that your final sticker will look exactly how your image does, with no unsightly border where it wasn't printed on. We can die-cut your sticker into any size for no extra charge!

What is the typical use for your die-cut stickers?

Die-cut stickers have a wide variety of uses. Our most common use is dot-com stickers, which are applied in the 1/4 window of the vehicle for subtle yet effective advertising. Windshield Banners, which are made with the same process and only designed and created into a larger sticker are also very effective. We have produced vehicle lettering, sign lettering, vehicle graphics and custom stickers for every imaginable application.

How accurate is your machine, can I rely on Stickercutting.com to produce my image accurately?

Yes you can! We know that you will only expect the highest quality products from us. We put the extra effort into every order to ensure every detail is correct with every sticker.  We work through every detail with the customer to ensure the order is accurately produced the first time.  We ask BEFORE we make any changes to ensure they are well received.  Good communication is just one aspect to ensure our quality.

Can I order a test sticker of my actual artwork before a larger run is ordered?

For our digitally printed stickers, yes. We can produce a minimum run of small (up to 6" x 6") window stickers for you for $35.00 shipped via USPS Priority Mail. This allows us to produce an exact product for you to see and feel before ordering a large quantity.  This service isn't available for clear or die-cut stickers.  Standard samples are available for all of our products free of charge upon request.

I don't see what I need on your site, does that mean you can't produce it?

Vinyl has so many different uses, that the easiest way to find out if we can produce what you need is to contact us.  We have produced the most basic orders to the most extreme. All of the most extreme orders were started with a simply phone call asking if we could produce what was needed.

I would like to see sticker samples, can you provide these?

We have standard sample packs that can be provided upon request.  These include digital stickers, clear stickers and die-cut stickers.  Contact us if you would like to have a sample pack sent out!

What custom products can you produce?  What if I have an idea for a custom product?

From custom labels to window stickers to promotional products, we can create it.  The creative part is up to you! If you have a custom label or sticker that needs to be produced for your project, contact us and we'll let you know if it's possible.

With our die-cut stickers, we can create any custom lettering that you need. This lettering can be used on signs, boats, vehicles, products, or any smooth surface. We let your creativity come out, as our short-run production process is extremely flexible.

Color Matching is important to me - what products can be color matched? What are the steps to achieve the right color?

In order for us to guarantee a color match, you will need to purchase or have access to a pantone book and have your file designed in Adobe Illustrator.  Each color that needs to be matched will be sourced from this book and will need to be provided to us at the time of ordering.  We will use each Pantone (Also known as PMS) color that you provide and compare it to your printed product to ensure accuracy.   If PMS colors are not provided with your image files, we unfortunately do not guarantee a color match with your products, as we must have this color to reference when printing.  Your supplied vector file will allow us to adjust your file if needed. Cost will vary on digitally printed sticker color matching depending on your needs.

Color Matching:  Digitally Printed Products - Color Matching is available (when printed onto white vinyl), Face Adhesive Stickers, Premium White Stickers and Laminated Reflective Stickers can be color matched using our digital process.
In order for us to achieve the best color match available, your artwork will need to be designed in Adobe Illustrator.  Your file should be saved as an .EPS or .AI file, with all fonts converted to outlines.  All files sent should be accompanied with PMS numbers for each aspect of the logo.  Reflective stickers are much more difficult for us to color match, since they are more sensitive to different lighting conditions given the material they are printed on. This reflective abilities of the material can cause a slight variation in color for our clients going for an exact match in all lighting conditions.

Color Matching: Die-Cut Stickers - Custom Colors are available for most orders.
Our die-cut stickers are cut from a single colored roll of material that is colored by our vinyl manufacturer.  Vinyl manufacturer's only create so many color choices, so when ordering die-cut stickers, we can compare your PMS color to a vinyl swatch book to see if your color is available (your vinyl color must be sourced from a pantone book before we can attempt to match it to our vinyl swatch book).  If your exact color match isn't available, we would have to custom order the next-best match available from our manufacturer.  Cost will vary depending on your needs.

Color Matching: Clear StickersCustom Colors not available - Limited to our listed colors.
Our clear stickers can only be printed using up to four standard colors shown on our clear stickers page.  We cannot create a custom color or make a custom color for you with our clear printing process.

Custom Vinyl Decals and Custom Vinyl Stickers, what's the difference?

We hear this question asked nearly everyday - we always let our customers know, there is no difference to us other than the term.  The word can be intercharnged and used however you like. Many of our customers assume a custom decal is a die-cut sticker (which has no background) and a sticker is printed onto a white material, or our Premium White Stickers.  We consider these terms a basic generalization - what to always remember is that our stickers (decals!) last outdoors for 3+ years and work great on a large variety of different surfaces.

Adhesives, base materials, lamination, and printing processes vary whether you're calling them decals or stickers, depending on the company you're working with.   What it comes down to is your specific needs and how you want the product to perform.  With the name being interchanged so widely, we focus on how you want the final product to perform, rather than it's general name. Whether you call them Custom vinyl stickers or custom vinyl decals, we'll still be glad to work with you!

Design

I'm new to designing, which software should I use?

If you're new to designing artwork, you will want to download a trial version of Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator at Adobe to get started.  These programs are free for 30 days and are the best choice in the world of design.  If you don't have the ability to download these software packages, you can use a more basic editor like SVG-Edit, which is a web-based, free to use artwork tool.  We do not recommend the use of MS Paint for your design work.  If using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher or other design program options, the file will need to be exported as a .PDF file so we can view it accurately.

I have gradients and glows in my design, is this an issue for digital printing?

Anything you can design - we can print in exact detail. No matter the glows, gradients or images involved, we have you covered.  We do not print the gradients with half-tone dots.  Exactly as the gradient shows on your screen, is how it will print on the vinyl.

What format should my file be in when I e-mail it to you?

We recommend the file being in .PDF, .EPS, .AI, .JPG, .TIF or .BMP format. 300dpi or higher is recommended for .JPG formats and true vector (designed in Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw) is recommended for .EPS or .AI files.

All files that are designed in Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw and saved .EPS or .AI should be converted to outlines in Adobe Illustrator, or Curves in Corel Draw before saving the file.  This can be done by right clicking on the font and going to "convert to outlines" or "convert to curves". If this step isn't completed, your fonts will not show up correctly when we open the vector file.

What is the largest/smallest sticker you can produce?

We can produce your (die-cut) stickers up to 28" tall. The smallest dimensions depends ultimately on your design for this process as each sticker is hand peeled by us. Our digitally printed stickers can be made up to 53" tall and we can generally go as small as 0.5" x 0.5", depending on your artwork.  Our clear stickers can be made up to 26" tall.

Can you produce vinyl products larger then just window stickers?

Yes! If you have the artwork, we can print your design onto vinyl or banner material. Your artwork will determine the final print quality of the product.

Do you produce stickers for the inside of windows?

Yes we do. We offer face adhesive stickers, which can be applied to the inside of the glass.

I don't have any artwork available, can you handle designing my file and printing from it?

We do not handle artwork production from scratch.  We can make minor adjustments or additions depending on the format and layout of the file.

We can recreate some line art drawings by tracing your original image.  This will clean up the look of the final product and is sometimes required to achieve a professional looking product.  This service is on a case by case basis and we will let you know if this service is available or necessary to produce your order.

Durability

How should I clean the surface to ensure my stickers last as long as possible?

We recommend cleaning the surface with Windex or Isopropyl alcohol (available in all department stores) two to three times before application to ensure the adhesive can work properly.  The cleaner the surface before application, the better longevity your stickers will have.

My products will be around harsh chemicals, should I be concerned?

Our digitally printed stickers are laminated and offer great protection to mild cleaners over time.  Our die-cut stickers will hold up nicely to mild cleaners and will not cause any color to be removed from them.  We have tested our digitally printed stickers under bleach, mild cleaners and even under gasoline, with no negative effects to the print when applied for moderate periods of time.  We recommend only placing the custom stickers under mild chemicals and testing their durability before applying a mild chemical to a large batch of stickers.

Our clear stickers are not laminated, so use more care when using cleaners around these stickers.

Are your stickers dishwasher safe?

Based on our internal testing, we have found our Premium White Stickers, Reflective Stickers, Face Adhesive Stickers and clear printed stickers to be dishwasher safe.  After dozens of washes with a home-based dishwasher, our stickers have held up incredibly well and haven't shown any signs of wear or peeling.  The surface you will be applying the sticker to and how harsh the dishwasher is will be a major factor in how well our stickers stay applied to your product.  If you want to be 100% sure our products are right for you, simply e-mail us with your address to receive clear or digitally printed samples.  Let us know you will be dishwasher testing our products so we can check in on your results.

How long should I expect before I receive a quote back for my custom sticker order?

I need to reorder more stickers, is my previous artwork saved and will both my first, and second order match?

Pricing

What type of payments are accepted?

We accept credit cards over the phone as payment (Visa, MasterCard, American express, Discover) and PayPal.com Payments. Money orders and company checks are also accepted.  See our Info page for more details.

How much is the setup charge for orders?

FREE! We do not believe in charging the customer setup fees. We know how expensive advertising your business to be. We like to delete costs where we can to help the customer put the money elsewhere.

For your Digitally Printed Stickers (Premium White Stickers, Reflective Stickers, Face Adhesive Stickers, Large Format Stickers) - How much extra is it if I add more colors to my artwork?

FREE! Most companies producing stickers are using a dated, screen printing setup which prints your design one color at a time.  This system isn't computer controlled and doesn't offer any flexibility when your designs are complex.  Because of our Digital Printing abilities, you can add in as many colors or design elements as you like to your artwork and the price remains the same.

This company will make the stickers for me for .05/each, why are yours more expensive?

The sticker industry has many types of vinyl, printing processes, production types, and inks.  All are called stickers, but not are all created with top quality machinery with quality in mind and many more are not made for durability.  Most companies do not mention how long their products last outdoors, because they simply will not last, or they simply do not know.  Our thorough testing allows us to know these factors.  Less expensive products generally are made with cheap materials, aren't laminated like our Digitally Printed Stickers or are printed at a poor resolution with very inaccurate cutting.  We produce a top quality product that is proven to last outdoors for 3+ years.  We stand beind these claims and have thousands of customers who rely on us to produce a durable product for them.  Our products are easy to install, and will allow your company to advertise worry-free for years indoors or outdoors.

Where are the breaks in pricing for bulk sticker orders?

We recommend reading through the product page of the produce you're interested in to determine the minimums for your particular product.  The minimums will vary depending on the product size.  If you aren't sure of the minimums, just ask when using our free quote form linked at the top of every page.

Do you offer lower quality stickers for a cheaper price?

No, we do not.  Cheaper materials would lower our product quality, which means a low quality product for you.  High-Quality products means a better looking, longer lasting product with more value for you and the people you may be handing the stickers out to.  Quality is our number one focus.

Artwork & Graphics

Do you produce corporate logos, professional team logo stickers or other logos that are not owned by me and I do not have permission to print?  Example: NFL Team Stickers, Harley Davidson, company logos taken from Google Images, etc.

We receive a lot of these requests and our answer is always, No.  We cannot produce these images in any shape or form without official written permission from their owners.  We generally do not respond to these types of requests as they are not something we can legally reproduce.
