Picking the perfect size for your hard hat stickers is key to a professional look
Many customers are unsure of the ideal size for their custom hard hat stickers. Most hard hat stickers that we produce are made in a proportional size, so the width is the same as the height. Many are made in circles, while squares, custom shapes and ovals are also popular. For these matching height to width proportions, we recommend going with a maximum size of around 2.25″ x 2.25″. This size will allow you to wrap the stickers nicely on any part of the helmet; if you choose to go larger, your chances of creases can increase dramatically as you’ll be installing on multiple complex curves of the hard hat at the same time.
For hard hat stickers that are longer than they are tall, you can get away with a little more length with less height, depending on the location of the install. Installing across the center or the sides of the hard hat will yield you a flatter installation area, generally making the install easier. A popular rectangular size that we produce for hard hats is 3″ x 1″. This size allows for other stickers to be applied to the hard hat, but also gives your logo good visibility.
We always recommend measuring your hard hat before ordering stickers to ensure you have a relatively flat spot to install the stickers. An installation location with more complex curves will generally require a smaller sticker for a professional install. Going too large can put your customers in a difficult spot where they have to put too much effort into the installation. We prefer sizes that are quick and easy to install, upping your chances that your logo ends up on as many hard hats as possible.
A contour cut sticker, or one that’s cut around your logos shape, can offer more chances of a clean install when installing on the hard hat as you’re reducing the surface area, or sometimes your contour cut even matches nicely to the overall curve of the hard hat.
Oval hard hat stickers you may also find easier to install as well since it has less surface to install vs a larger rectangular sticker.
